BLE Tags for Tools and Driver ID
10 minutes a day spent searching for tools adds up to an entire working week each year.
Get full visibility of your tools and equipment
Have you ever:
- Left tools behind on a job site?
- Forgotten to return borrowed equipment?
- Spent far too long searching for misplaced tools?
- Wasted time and fuel driving back to retrieve forgotten equipment?
- Bought replacements because the original tools couldn’t be found?
Then we have a solution that can help you – while saving both time and money.
BLE tags (Bluetooth Low Energy) are small tags that you attach to tools and non-powered equipment.
The tag sends a Bluetooth signal, which is picked up by the GPS tracker in your vehicle.
Now you can see where your tools are – just like you can see where your vehicles are.
Our BLE tags are available in four models:
- Puck – Ø: 57 mm, H: 20 mm
- Coin – Ø: 36 mm, H: 11.5 mm
- Slim / Lite – 45 × 23.2 × 5.3 mm
- Eye Beacon – 56.6 x 38 x 13 mm
Driver ID with BLE Tags
No more guessing who is driving your van. Use an Eye Beacon or BLE Slim tag as a driver ID and always know who was driving the vehicle. No manual registration. No forgotten log entries.
Automatic Driver Identification – No Manual Input
EcoMobility Driver ID tags instantly identify who is driving each vehicle – no apps, no buttons, no interaction required. Drivers simply enter the vehicle, and the system does the rest.
- No manual registration
- No forgotten log entries
- No driver interaction needed
When the vehicle tracker no longer detects the tag, the driver is automatically unassigned – ensuring accurate, real-time data at all times.
Ideal for Shared Vehicles and Fleet Operations
This solution is perfect for companies with shared vehicles or multiple drivers per vehicle. Improve accountability, reduce administrative work, and ensure compliance with driver tracking requirements.
BLE Tags – FAQ
How are BLE tags tracked?
BLE tags are tracked via Bluetooth when they are near a vehicle equipped with an EcoMobility tracker. The vehicle’s position is automatically recorded and shown in WinFleet and the app as the tag’s location.
How do BLE tags work for tools?
BLE tags send out a Bluetooth signal that is picked up by a GPS tracker in your vehicle. When the signal is detected, the position is shown in the system.
How does Driver ID with BLE tags work?
Each driver has a tag. When the tag is detected in the vehicle, the driver is automatically linked to the trip. When the signal is no longer detected, the driver is automatically unassigned.
Do I need to install anything?
You need a GPS tracker in your vehicle that can detect the BLE signal. All trackers in the EcoMobility network can pick up the signal, so even if your own vehicle isn’t nearby, another customer’s tracker can detect it and update the position on your platform.
Note: BLE tags do not work with EcoLink, as this requires a physical tracker in the vehicle.
How accurate is the location?
The location shows the last detected position – meaning where the vehicle was when the tag was last “seen.”
How long does the battery last?
BLE tags are designed for low power consumption and typically last several years, depending on usage and signal interval.
